The dawn is fire bright, against the city lights

Currently on repeat Switchfoot - Your love is a song

Just rushed back to Hamilton last night for our CASS (Canadian Asian Student Society) Christmas Potluck after an exhausting two days of planning surprises and celebrating my sister's birthday (December 1st) and my brother's birthday (December 2nd). Last week I went out with some girlfriends for a last get together before we all started to hide away to study for final exams. Last week was the last full week of lecture - to be honest, it felt like such a slow week. But, the gift and card (I LOVE CARDS!) exchanges, baking and all that bonding time with the few girlfriends made it feel less like a dreadful week. I've always wanted to try Earl's ever since they opened in Burlington, Ontario. The atmosphere looked very warm and welcoming, it might've even gave me the impression that the food shouldn't be too bad either. After our night classes, we got ready very quickly and drove to Burlington for our last get together (I can't believe that the first term of second year university is already done). When we finally got to Earl's, I couldn't help but admire everything about the atmosphere, even the food/wine menu looked divine. The food and drinks were enjoyable meaning we will definitely go back for another visit in the future. Can't wait to get these next few weeks over with... I'm extremely excited for the winter holidays this year.

Birthdays and fireworks

This Victoria's Day (May 24th) was spent up in Hamilton with my housemates. Original plan to head down to Woodbine Beach didn't happen. I wish I saw those beautiful fireworks. Oh well, maybe Canada Day? A friend of ours bought the birthday girl and guy a strawberry cake! It was delicious. Maybe because I usually love anything that's strawberry. After the little birthday celebration, we all headed out to do some fireworks. It was fun while it lasted but I wish that we had more fireworks to play with!

Young Hearts Run Free

My mind has been going off in the last week. Been stressing about school and other stuff. But yesterday made things slightly clearer which made me happier! :) I had Chinese New Years celebration with my family during the weekend and spent Valentine's day with my friends from school! We shopped around downtown Toronto (YES, scored myself a nice boyfriend styled dress-shirt and stocked up on my Clinque Dramatically Moisturizing lotion, it's the best!)

Here are pictures:

Also, yesterday was Family Day haha - I went to study at Country Style with my friend and I went to my friend's birthday yesterday and I'm so glad I got to see so many people I haven't seen in a while!

Memories like bullets, they fired at me from a gun

So it's officially reading week. I've been waiting for this week for so long! Finally a break from school but I actually really miss being in Hamilton/Burlington with the girls. Thursday night after class, the girls and I made an attempt to make sugar cookies! They actually turned out really really really good! I'm sad that I don't have any after pictures of it... but it's okay, tons of baking to come in the future! Hmmm.. oh, also today was Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day. I had a date with my friends from school. They came down to Toronto and we went shopping at the Eaton center and had dinner together. Tomorrow, depending on if I can get my hands on some ingredients, I'm going to attempt to make a carrot cake, yay!

Cheers to 2010!

2010 will be great. I've learnt from my many mistakes over the past and with the fresh year ahead of me - I'm determined to do things the right way around. Let me start off by thinking of some new years resolutions.

1) Be indepedent as I can be.
2) School is my number one priority next to my family.
3) Be healthy, eat healthy.
4) Be spontaneous and do more new things.
5) Never take anything for granted.

Okay, I can't really think right now.

Well, here's New Year's Eve in a nutshell - I went to Urban Lounge last night in Markham to celebrate with some friends. It was really nice to see everybody again especially after so long! In addition, there were somethings that happened that kindof screwed the night up but I'm glad I had really supportive and helpful friends there. Thanks guuuys. Happy New Years to all of you! Best wishes to everything and anything you guys do in the future.

Winter brings a different kind of warmth

Boxing day was crazy this year! Now I remember why I didn't want to go last year. I went to Yorkdale yesterday with my mom and my sister and just trying to get off the highway took about 10 years! Haha, well not literally but it took a very long time but thankfully we scored a parking spot right when we turned into the lot. Also went to play some COD last night and baked a pretty good looking cake with a friend. A chocolate heart shaped cake with white frosting and we mixed the food colouring to make different coloured frosting to decorate the cake. It was just a fun festive cake which was quite delicious I have to say. Anyways, I'm very excited for the next few days! :) Baking and catching up with the girls tonight! And then I will be heading to Blue Mountain tomorrow morning for my very first time to snowboard for my second time! Hopefully I'm better this time around and don't come back to Toronto with a body full of bruises because I still need to go skating on Tuesday! I love winter activties and gathering with everybody :) Sadly, it's just 7 more days until I go back to Hamilton for school... The break is half over and I still have so much to do and so many people to see. I wish there was more time in the world, boo.

The beauty of the holidays

Merry Christmas everyone! It's so nice to be home and surrounded by family and friends. Had a reunion party with most of my highschool friends and I'd have to say it was a pretty fun night. I can't say how good it felt to see everyone after such a long time. So happy! :) Anyways, yesterday was Christmas Eve and I spent some time with one of my very good friends and catching up was so fun! I love how the holidays brings everyone together :)

Cheers to good times!

Just around corner

Current Song (8) Dashboard Confessionals - My Beautiful Rescue

And.. it's a fresh start! It's time to finally switch over to a new blogging site which means no more Xanga. So here we go, since I'm finally on my winter break, this gives me time to blog. My life has been extremely busy and everything has been happening ridiculously fast. In the blink of an eye really. From school, to graduation, past relationships, and realizing that the future is what holds the most. With all honesty, I'm still just trying to let everything slowly sink in me because it's extremely overwhelming. The first half of my first year in university has just ended but it was definitely an unforgettable sweet semester. I'm so glad I met all of these wonderful people who have become like my family haha <3
